Hello,

I may be coming to teach at BEC(British Educational Centre) in the fall. Does anyone have any info on this school? Anything would be helpful.

I like what I've read about Krasnodar so far:)

Thanks in advance,

~D

Hi Darren, I did get your message but I will reply here.

I have just left the school but I recommended it to my friend so it isn't so bad...admin staff are great....boss is a bit of a glory hound and not one to cross so much....but if you smile and don't bother her or try to cause waves then everything is fine...pay is slightly above average for tefl teaching(which isn't saying much) plus the free russian lessons are useful...they are in a growth phase at the moment and you should do quite well there...main reason i left is because i am going to study russian at university from september fulltime and that requires a student visa which you cant (legally) teach on....i do a few prvate lessons and i am rather happy now....i had a few run ins with the boss there but in the end it was sorted and i was offered to renew but chose not to....the admins and other teachers are great and so are the students....and krasnodar is a great city just a few hours to the black sea and even closer to the mountains...

Hi Darren,
I visited Krasnodar several times (last time we sit good with yakspeare in the small but nice cafe near his job), and I'm pretty sure you'll like it - not so many tall builings (only in the center), streets are long enough with a lot of 2-3 floor private houses, warm weather, relaxed and friendly people, a lot of small shops/cafes/private businesses, good food and wines etc...

Hey thanks for the info. I should know whats happening by the end of the week.

I'm just doing my due diligence as I've worked for nightmare schools in Korea and gems in Hungary.

Any info on ANGLETICA? They recently contacted me and I haven't found anything on the net either(usually a good sign) :)

Thanks Andy:)
The way it was described - lots of old single family homes etc - made me think there would be interesting and historic architecture. It appears from the arial pic that may be the case outside of the central district. Are you from Krasnodar? I have been to a few places outside Moscow but not in that region.

Me not, just my ancestors come from there. If you search for old buildings, then check Rostov-na-Donu, they have more (4-4.5 hours by express train from Krasnodar, twice a day).

So are you still in Krasnodar or have moved to another area?

Georgia, Chechnya? Or Moscow? :)

I am in Uzbekistan...

Joking! I am still in Krasnodar....doing a bit of private teaching and will start learning Russian 20 hours a week from September at the university....42000 roubles for a year it is a bargain compared to my private tutors...looking forward to it.
