I would like to thank all of those of you who showed up last night. I would like to hear your comments good and bad so fire away.

My comments are as follows:
1. Drinks were properly made and nobody can complain about the rice.
2. Service was good in most cases, though not well informed about our event because they tried to shut us down an hour early but Chris and Caesar came to the rescue and even passed out a few free drinks to boot!
3. The place is a good venue for the event though it seems that the actual late out seems to cut down on the interaction between individuals. Need to think on this one because I tried to make my rounds and say hello to everyone, but the place is so large that people tend to gather in groups of their known friends and the new comers are set aside.
4.Plus I had the pepper steak last night and it was excellent!
Please post your comments and give your ideas on how we can make this event better. I also want to keep moving around to keep things interesting so if you have any ideas on a new place to visit let me know.

This meeting is positioned as business mixer, but what if I have a vague understanding of business and want just to communicate?

I think the idea of the event (as with former/other business networking events) is for business people to meet and network, exchange cards and make new contacts.

There are any number of other "social" events arranged in the city... in my experience these business events have been spoilt in the past because they were treated as another place to socialise with your mates and get cheap food & beer.

Possessing a vague understanding of business could mark you out as something of a dangerous intellectual among the majority of Moscow's expat lions of industry!

This week we had it at Hemingways (Last week was Shamrock) and there were people from this site, redtape, and the expat mailing list. I also have a decent database of e-mail addresses to whom I send out personnal invites and anyone that wants included on that list just drop me a line.
Last night the head count was around 75, the best night yet.
I will post next week's location on Tuesday.
