6 kittens were left near a garbage container.
They were taken to the clinic otherwise they would be eaten by dogs or die of hunger.
We have not succeeded so far in finding them temporary (free or paid) or permanent homes.
If you would like to co-sponsor their accommodation, become a foster home for them or adopt a kitten from this bunch, we will be very glad. If you decide to act as a foster home, we can provide you with food and other supplies at our cost.
Until now their stay in the clinic has been sponsored by the person who found them, the amount has reached 20 000 rubles. She cannot afford to pay for them alone much longer.
The price in a temporary paid foster home will be 80-100 rubles per kitten per day.
If you can help with keeping these kittens at your home, we will be very grateful.
Such situations with kittens being thrown away are due to low culture of the local people in terms of animal welfare.
It is still believed here by many people that neutering is unkind and it is better to allow a cat to have children and then throw them away or drown them than to neuter a cat.
Another source of kittens are people who make “dirty business” on them. They take money from poorly educated cat owners (who allow their cats to have kittens) promising to find good homes for them. They keep the money and throw the kittens away if they cannot sell them within a quick time. They are called “perekupka”, though they do not “buy and resell” as the word implies. They get the money twice (for promising to re-home the kittens and for selling some of them)
Here is the story of the kittens:

Here are the kittens as they look these days.
http://pesikot.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=176085&view=getnewpost
A part of them has moved to a temporary paid home. The other part is still in the clinic as they are weak and have viruses.
Financial help is badly needed to cover their costs. It is still too early now to speak about adoption or giving them for temporary care to anyone who is not professional with animal care...
More details can be found in their topic at the pesikot forum.

Financial help is still needed.

The quantity of survising kittens is still the same, but the condition of the weakest ones is not satisfactory. Blood transfusion is being proposed by doctors for one of them.

i think it is time to bite the bullet and admit that your swiss clinic is not doing a good job, if three of the cats have allready kicked the bucket...

if you like i can help, but you are going to have to share the spoils... $25 (750rubles), will help 50 cats.

Feline panleukopenia is an illness with a high mortality rate, especially for kittens. So I am not sure if it is the fault of the clinic that 3 are dead, or it is a miracle that 5 are alive... However 2 out of five are still between life and death...

It is so dreaded by cat carers that they often abbreviate the full Russian word to "п."

Saving such kittens is really expensive.
Until now 13575.86 have been raised,
the clinic+food+tests+drapes etc. (including medicine) have cost 35558 rubles
There is still an unpaid debt in the clinic 10000 rubles (for the 2 kittens staying there) and the debt for the temporary paid home of the stronger 3 kittens is about 10000 r.

Normally kittens thrown away to pomoikas are not very popular, so the financial help has been very scares so far.. at the same time 58 persons out of 60 who took part in our poll at Pesikot answered that they would not have been able to pass by a bunch of kittens screaming in the garbage..
The current situation is updated here: http://pesikot.org/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=176085&view=findpost&p=6329880

The money for kittens can be transferred to:
Yandex money 41001958403535
an account in Sberbank (the details will be provided to your request)
an account in Alfa Bank (the details will be provided to your request)

Feline panleukopenia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Wiki_letter_w_cropped.svg" class="image"><img alt="Wiki letter w cropped.svg" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1c/Wiki_letter_w_cropped.svg/20px-Wiki_letter_w_cropped.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/1/1c/Wiki_letter_w_cropped.svg/20px-Wiki_letter_w_cropped.svg.png
The virus primarily attacks the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, causing internal ulceration and, ultimately, total sloughing of the intestinal epithelium. This results in profuse and usually bloody diarrhea, severe dehydration, malnutrition, anemia, and often death.

Feline panleukopenia requires aggressive treatment if the cat is to survive, as this disease can kill cats in less than 24 hours. Treatment involves whole blood transfusion to improve pancytopenia, intravenous fluids as most cats are dehydrated, injections of vitamins A, B, and C, IV antibiotics to prevent septicemia, which develops in most cats with feline panleukopenia if antibiotics are not used, and hospitalization.

it looks like 5 kittens have made up their minds to survive.
Here are 3 of them, and more new photos of the team will be made shortly.
We are starting to look for homes for them, and financial help is still needed as the debt in the clinic is huge (shown here http://pesikot.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=176745&st=0&gopid=6282584&#entry6282584)

All the kittens have been rehomed.
What is not typical in the situation is that the topic can go to Happy stories at the forum, but the person who rescued them remains with a huge debt to the clinic. As the struggle for their lives was very lengthy, they enjoyed a long stay in the clinic leaving a long tail of debts behind…
As on 13/10/11
the debt to the clinic is 15000 rubles, 7000 has been raised in the recent weeks.
The debt to the temporary paid foster home where the kittens were staying after the clinic is 45 651 rubles.
If you would like to take part in rescue of these kittens post-factum, when the actual rescue operation is successfully completed, your help will be very much appreciated.
You can also visit the perederzhka where they were staying and see other cats living there and waiting to be rehomed.
The money can be transferred:
-to a Yandex account 41001958403535
-to a Sberbank account (details will be posted to you upon request)
-to an Alfa-Bank (details will be posted to you upon request)
The money can be handed over to the person who rescued the kittens for further delivery to the perederzhka
The money can be delivered to the perederzhka where you will get a chance to see the conditions and to meet numerous cats

The kittens are happy in the families, and the person who found them is still paying out the debts for their temporary accommodation.
