I know this may have been asked before but now that the weather is changing, could anyone provide suggestions for indoor play areas that are in the city centre?

Also could someone please help out with what is the equivalent of children's paracetemol?

Thanks very much, this site has been extremely helpful.

I have typed a long message, but lost it. :(

Above I have put some places for kids.

Personally, can recommend Mir Detstva http://md.lebrand.ru/center/ There are plenty of activities there, incl two cafees with very good food, puppet shows on Saturdays and a toy shop/clothes shop.

One of the best places in town is 5 Stars, Bahrushina Street (opposite Paveletsky station).

Children's paracetomol is the same old Calpol (cyrillic - Калпол).

There are plenty of things to do with a kid in Moscow. Get the best out of it. But you will need to learn Russian.

PS A very good place for lunch, and we always took our 2yo is a coffee shop in Conservatoria, Bolshaia Nikitskaia Street.

Good luck.

Thanks (I think), did you really mean to post all of that info. in Russian or were you just trying to see if you could get away with it. Is Len still in school??

bibliofil-

Would you mind posting the above info. in English? And yes once I have my son settled I do plan on learning the language.

All these places are not aimed for bloody foreigners, so I have not seen these info in English. May be smb could translate it for future references.

Wow, so they discriminate against English speaking people at these play areas, not exactly the kind of "CHILD friendly" place I want to take my son. BTW, my computer must discriminate against the cyrillic script as it comes out looking like some sort of code langage and I couldn't translate even if I wanted to.

That's one of the reasons why we allow English posts only.

However seeing as bibliofil has taken the time and effort to give you a listing it shall remain.

the cyrillic script as it comes out looking like some sort of code langage

On your toolbar goto: view - encoding - then Cyrillic (Windows) it will probably be under 'More'

Thanks for the tip Braders, I think I may be able to translate a bit of this now.

c'mon guys, you'd better learn to use the facilities of general net search!! there are several websites devoted to restaurants, clubs etc. My fav is http://eng.moscowout.ru. Not only they have lists of places, but diff revews and guestbooks and stuff

so here is a direct link to kids clubs;);)

Just bear in mind, this city is simply not geared for foreigners. Initially on purpose, nowadays probably a matter of inertia. They have plenty of russian speakers around so why bother with foreigners? Many of them don't INTENTIONALLY discriminate (meaning, SOME DO...).

Actually I start my language lessons next week, 3 days a week, hopefully this will help a bit. I have noticed a certain hostility when I am out , but to be honest I don't blame most Russians for not liking the english speaking foreigner...
