View Full Version : Playing football in Moscow

Hi there, I am 24 and moving to Moscow with my job in January. I am a lover of all sports but would love to be playing football to keep fit, make friends etc when I make the move. I have seen the expat football league but they appear to have a rule that you have to be in your late twenties to play.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Warmest regards, R.

None as yet....... Arrived in Moscow yesterday so am keen to get out and about meeting people. I'm aware of the Allianz league which is out there and also aware of the age restrictions that apply. If anyone knows if I could train and not play, thus not breaking any rules? It would be great. Loving moscow so far, I feel like I'm in a movie....! RR

Hi Richie, if you have any luck locating a group of people that train together (any age - youngsters), please let me know. My son is 16, new in Moscow and would love to join in a soccer practice.:soccer:

We can always try to have a game of small football, i have nice field next to my building, i like it more than big football, game is faster, people participate more, more goals, more fun. . . we can try to organise smth for some weekend, and the best this is its free, public fields.

But erm, are you talking about playing outside now? :cold: :coffee:

Its not that cold, even if it is, you will feel it just first 5min, after that you will feel hot. Im running every day 10-20km and its ok, never cold. And we can always find close some place where we can change our clothes.

Ok, i will start another thread that says ''football match / Thursday evenings''.
Let's try and get a group of at least 10 and have a decent 5 a side match.

Join the other thread, let's exchange numbers, let's get it started.

Any luck with finding a pitch at all? There is the indoor one at locomotiv but I'm unsure as to whether it is a)available and b)priced to be a viable option.
