for me it's only a means to stay in touch with my friends at home without paying hundreds of $$...

Can't vote:

Stuck at 56k pay by hour, sucks. My computer now it makes up 1/2 my days entertainment.

The internet I love but hate no HS connection, and limiting my use.

I can't say that I've got an addiction, but sometimes when you're feeling lonely it can help a lot :)

Go to the Maldives. You'll forget about it immediately and then wonder why you'd ever want to log on again! I promise!

Definitely hooked!

I don't remember life before the net. Doesn't matter where I am either, I use it daily. Laptop, smart phone, cafe...whatever! Banking, Airline bookings, biz, photo, legal, ECT.

Being self employed and a non conformist and not a slave to the whims of bureaucracy or time zones, I just couldn't function without it. I even met my wife online.

Iím waiting for the day when (Nokia) makes the Buck Rogers wrist watch with a good holographic interface.

I still like reading newspaper tho.

It's not that I'm really addicted to internet, although I use it daily. I can do without it, so voted for "not addicted". But if I have no access to it for some time, it feels like something is missing :)

That's called 'denial'. You are addicted. The first step to treatment is admitting you have a problem. But you have to *want* to help yourself.

TT & EMK,

I'd help if I could but I haven't been able to get past step 1 for three years now.

So if it's not one addiction it's another? :)
