I don't like russian dolls - they're just so full of themselves.

Didja know that the Japanese came up with the idea of matrioshkas (nesting dolls)? They became associated with Russia following their introduction at the Russian exposition at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 where they won a medal. The first matrioshka set was made in 1890.
