I think it's high time a new guy won the race !
Why not Vinokurov? He won in the Ventoux yesterday.

in what sense? i mean, i have unreserved respect for vino..but is lance not spectacular as well...? particularly when it comes to the month of july?

Lance always wait for the last climb to attack.

and that's a bad thing...? i mean, he doesn't get completely dropped (normally) on any climbs, and he is fairly consistent in terms of his cadence, etc. when he attacks, he generally leaves everyone at stand still...i see nothing wrong with that...plus, he's not too shabby at TTs...

sorry...am i missing something?

No you aren't missing anything.
I just want something new and more sensational to happen this time. :)
With Lance winning, it is as all was written in advance.

dunno..the 2003 race nearly gave me a heart attack...right up until jan crashed out in the final time trial...well, nearly had a heart attack at that moment...not b/c i wished teh guy any ill will -- quite the contrary. just an incredibly exciting tour...:-)

right...need to go check what happened at teh dauphine today...!!!
