Hello all!

I am looking for a basketball game in Moscow on weekends. I have heard that the US Embassy used to have them, but I don't know if they still do.
Any relevant information will be greatly appreciated!

My brother plays basketball ever Saturday all year round with his mates somewhere near Novoslobodskaya and also when the weather is good outdoors near Rizhskaya if I'm not mistaken. Will ask him for details and post them on Monday.

I play on Savelovskaya/Novoslobodskaya every Saturday (12:00 14:00). We rent a gym. This weekend supposed to be the last time, because outdoor season starts =) Maybe we will change our mind and we will continue to rent it in May as well. Usually we play 4x4. Amateur level ...
Also there are many places where You can play outdoor if weather allows to. I can give more info if interested.

Thanks for your suggestions and info!
This Sunday I went to the US Embassy (North Gate - opposite of the main entrance). I was there at 5 pm and after waiting for about 45 min. we had enough people at the north gate to get an escort to the gym. Cost $5 (or 150 RUB) per player incl. use of showers, towels etc. There should be a game there this Sunday, but probably nothing during the weekend of May 9th celebrations. So I hope to see some of you there on Sunday, May 17th, between 5:30-6:00 pm. Bring your passport, but leave your Russian girlfriend at home! (No Russians allowed inside. EU citizens and some other countries are). See you there!

The Embassy is a good place to play, but you need to know someone to go there and you can't bring and Russian friends along.

I want to play too!!! I used to play twice a week before I came to Moscow and I have only played two time in a year since I came to Moscow.

I'd love to play regularly. It seems there's enough interest here, why don't we get a group together?

If there's a regular thing organized, count me and my mate in.

As I've already mentioned I play regularly on Novoslobodskaya/Savelovskaya metro. We rent a school gym. Actually tomorrow is the last day we are supposed play because the weather seems to be good enough to play outdoors. I prefer playing indoors, but there are not too many people who are going to play indoors in spring/summer. Therefore if there are enough players we can rent this gym in May as well. Ill have to take a decision tomorrow, so if any of you would like to play please call me +7 916 902 53 50 and tomorrow at 12 p.m. you can come and play.

I would like to play twice a week.
Sunday indoors at the Embassy (nice court, showers, towels etc.) and any other day in the afternoon outside. I have heard from several people about Rizhskaya courts being a good place. The earliest we can get together for a game would be Sunday, the 17th of May. First two Sundays in May most people will be out of town or have other plans. Meetup is at the US Embassy (North Gate) between 5:30 and 6 pm. Cost $5. No Russians are allowed inside, so leave your girlfriends at home :)
See yall there!

Could you tell me how to get to the Rizhskaya courts please? I'm thinking of having a go! When do people meet?

Just spoken to iMoto, there are 5 players interested in a weekly game at Savelovskaya. We need another three if anyone's interested. It'll probably be on Saturdays at 12:00, and the court cost for two hours is 50R/person, assuming 8 people. I'm going to Rizhskaya this Wednesday afternoon if anyone wants to come along a have a look.

I'll try to arrange a game this Saturday, i'm not sure it'll be 4x4 game, at least we could play 3x3. So, any extra players urgently needed =)

funny enough :) you keep posting "No Russians are allowed inside". I thought people here can read and understand English language. there is no need to say the same thing 3-4-5...etc. times :D

Some people don't read or follow the entire thread like you do monkey :)
Are you comming?

Are you comming?

Wrong question! :D

The correct one would be: "Are you a US or EU passport holder?" :D

There were not enough people to play indoors, so the only option now is to play outdoors. We can meet and play at Rizhskaya (Reebok playground). Usually I play on Sevastopolskaya/Novie Cheremushki near the place i live. So if there is anybody who lives not far from these metro stations we can meet and play as well.

Can't say i live there, but on weekends I might be willing to try. My best day in general is Saturday.
