Hi, am planning to buy a new laser printer and a in a dilemma on which brand to buy. Need a black n white printer, able to printer many pages and the ink is cheap and usually available in the market. what do you recommend.

IMHO HP looks like a leader here, then Xerox/Samsung, then others. Browse http://www.chip.de/ , if you read German, they had special roundups with points performance comparison on printing quality, cost of consumables etc.

Don't forget that buying cheaper personal printer with lower speed you'll get more expenses on toner cartridges, than buying expensive but faster workgroup or dept level printer with cheaper toner.

Do you need a lazer printer indeed?

It makes sence in case you are going to print a lot of pages per month (300-500)?

Thus, it is good for a company, not for home usage

Actually inkjet printers are more affordable to my mind from the point of view of cost per page (I worked in HP 2 years ago, and I am still sure of it).

I would recommend you HP indeed (in both cases):

1. reliable;
2. no problem with supplies in retail (even lazer cartridges);
3. cost per printing (per page).

If you "hate" HP, then lazer printer Samsung or inkjet printer Epson.
