As you may have noticed, we recently installed some software that enables forum-wide translation into other languages. You can change the entire forums part of the site into another language simply by clicking on one of the flags found at the bottom of any page.

There is also a tool for translating specific blocks of text -->

Here's the trick for translating any (posted) text into your default forum language (mine is English):

1. Create a beginning tag --> [ lang=ru] - notice that I left a space between the first bracket and the word "lang" - to make it actually work you just remove that space.

2. Type something in whatever language you like - substitute "ru" for any of the other supported two letter codes found by mousing over the flags at the bottom of the page

3. Create a closing tag --> [/lang]

4. The final product would look like this --> [ lang=ru](Пинк Флойд) — английская прогрессив/психоделик-рок-группа из Кембриджа.[/lang]

5. Here's the final result (I removed the space from the first tag so now it actually does something) -->
(Пинк Флойд) — английская прогрессив/психоделик-рок-группа из Кембриджа.

Try google translation on English to Russian or Russian to English. You wil find it quite amusing. However it is useful in getting to know the jist of information.

But computer translation will never take over the job of translators, but even so computer translation can be useful. I have found it useful by setting internet explorer on changing all Russian and chinese sites for example into English.

It's just a pity I can't change the whole of windows vista home edition into English. As I do have problems sometimes.
