Am working on a Russian equivalent of this. The key station is Ulica Akademika Jangelja...
All according to Stovold which should soon be translated into Russian.

Any progress? Sounds promising.

If you like I'll start with Novogireevo :)

Class. What rules are we playing? Are overground stations allowed. Either way, I am going to go out on a loop with;

Varshavskaya

Sevastopolskaya is nice place, I live not far from. What's the buzz? 8)

If overground stations are allowed, do I need to specify Novogireevo (Kalininskaya Liniya) as opposed to platforma Novogireevo?

Following Sevastopolskaya, I'm going to have to apply the Ukrainian defence (post-Soviet version), and set up at Kievskaya (Filyovskaya Liniya).

Seeing as we are heading in that direction, I will try to take the centre with the Dostoevsky (it is little known that he was actually an avid Ulica Akademika Jangelja player) gambit and plump for Okhotny Ryad hoping that I won't be в ниде.

Objection! Until Dostoevskaya station opens (on the Lyublinskaya liniya), the Dostoevsky gambit is surely off limits? Having identified the crime, what punishment should be inflicted?

[calls for a document check in the perekhod from Ploshchad Revolutsii and anticipates a restricted interchange]

Where has everyone else gone on this game?

I think after 5 days in lock down following my document check at Ploshchad Revolutsii I will counter with a Skhodinskaya.

Revolutions, barricades ... all very historical.

And Russian history largely leads us to one man and his library.

Biblioteka imeni Lenina for me, and hoping to beat the closure of the perekhod into Borovitskaya.

Keeping with the theme I will take a trip to Leninsky Prospekt.

Why not to visit Kutuzovsky Prospekt? So Kutuzovskaya.

EdwardBentley
28-01-2010, 18:17
Kutuzovskaya??? That is a bit attacking isn't it? I counter with a Giuoco Piano move; Prospekt Mira.

Well, War and Peace - reminds me great Leo Tolstoy who lived for a long time in Jasnaja Polyana, not far from Tula (about 200 km from Moscow)... and I choose Tulskaja.

andymackem

But Tula is famous for its guns, popular with the Partizans (kaya). Or Izmailovsky Park if we're playing on an old map.

I'm going to have to go for the one that everyone's been avoiding and say Pushkinskaya. It's a risky choice I know but it severely limits the options of the next player...

Time to start a new game?

sometimes it is worth to pretend mad and strange, then to think and be sure it is not so..

And I change the first two letters of Tverskaya to a nice flower - peony (Russian pion) - and go to Pionerskaya.

Why not, why not.... Pionerskay is the right place for us, but just to have got a better alternative - exactly Shchelkovskaya (shchelkat means to flick)

Big avtovokzal at shchelkovskaya. But no avtozavod. So, as I continue to search for an FK Moskva fan I'm going to head to Vostochnaya Ulitsa, and Avtozavodskaya.

See you in Jumbo for a game of billiards, Ed?
