16843Today is an important day in the Muslim calendar. It is called Eid al Fitr (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eid_ul-Fitr) and marks the end of the Ramadan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Eidulfitr_meal.jpg" class="image" title="Ramadan"><img alt="Ramadan" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fd/Eidulfitr_meal.jpg/225px-Eidulfitr_meal.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/f/fd/Eidulfitr_meal.jpg/225px-Eidulfitr_meal.jpg fasting month. 16844It's an important celebration. Even on German news they described it as being as big as Christmas. I fasted this year with my GF. My first time. Eid Mubarak!:agree:

....I suppose they are all too busy eating to come to this forum....

The celebration lasts for days so I'm not giving up yet. There are a few Muslims on forum but they may not have seen this thread. So they're eating and enjoying Eid I guess.:applause:

I was in my colleague's room in a language school at lunchtime when one of her students brought her a big basket of goodies, chocolates, dried fruits, cocktail tomatoes, so much nice stuff, even I, a stranger, who he didn't know, was given a yoghurt. I was very happy with this generous gesture. Respect to everyone and happy Eid. :celebrate::celebrate:

Hi guys!

Thanks for greetings and I wish to all of you a very happy EID ul Fitr!

Eating is good, but the most important is spenading your time in these daays with your family, relatives and friends....in this case you wont escape from the hospitality :)

PJW, congratulations for your first fasting! How did you find it?:)

Eid Mubarak!

My gf's mother cooked up a storm on Sunday, we'll be eating it up for the rest of the week I guess. It's funny, but my gf fasts (her second time) during Rammadan, and I fast during the Cristmas lent. AND we get along!

How did you find it?:)It was fine. Ok.......
sometimes I got bored and missed drinking tea. Or I got a (slight) headache. But I did it because my GF is Muslim and it was NEVER a question that she should fast and me not. ;)

Eid Mubarak!! To you all. Enjoy the time.

Nice one PJW on your first time fasting. The last time I fasted was in Mombasa and Lamu which was great.
