"Gone are the Glenn Close-influenced scenes of burning oil over bare bottoms"

What do you think burning oil means? Kerosene or just well-heated oil?

Good question! In which of her movies does this scene occur?

Haven't seen the flick (whichever one it was---Fatal Attraction, maybe?), so can't be of much help here.

What dou think of this?

"I just found Max in bed with another women?"

Does another stand there for with one more woman or the first infidelity?

Presumably "another woman than me" is inferred :-)

....or it would be "yet another woman" ;)

Ok! But if in the begining of the story this the woman who says it has already caught him with a girl?

Still..."from the tiny chicken pox scar under his peculiarly shaped left nipple"

What is nipple here? Muscle or just teat?

from the tiny chicken pox scar under his peculiarly shaped left nipple = just under the left teat

Hmmmmmm your hero does himself well, looks like we're confronted with another lady friend here....

If you're still wondering about the Glenn Close bit, it might be from Dangerous Liasons with John Malkovich.

Probably well-heated oil, and not petroleum based. Sounds sado-masochistic.

Thanks a lot and don't worry. This is quite humorous story.
The extarct sounds sadistic only being out of context.

It was a test translation (chapter from English fiction book, they didn't told an author but no doubt it was a woman, most likely British) for one Russian publishing company.
In case i have done a good job of it they probably hire me for future fictions translation.
