OK - this is for me and the other motor mouths here - DJB, DPG, Braders, Maine Surfer, Sparafucile, Koba, Shatneresque, Plastique, Polly, Kshisya, Kseniya etc:

Who wants to join me in seeing whether we can limit ourselves to 2 posts a day (that is a TOTAL of 2 posts, regardless of how many logins we have, Mr Amin et al) unless answering or posting a request for urgent information? It is mainly the "social" posts and threads with which I would like to experiment :).

Do what you want with the 2 posts - in fact it might really be interesting to start a thread and let others take it wherever it goes for a day (or all three days) - or it may really be fun to use the 2 posts for a wind-up ;)!

It would be interesting to see whether quieter regulars take up the slack, whether new people come out to post, or whether threads just slow down without us there to hog them.

And then - how will it affect us? Will we get more done? Will we miss our posting activity? Will we even care to go back to our former patterns? Will we even be able to do this for one day, or will some thread appear that we feel we must answer?

Who among my fellow voluminous verbosities wants to try this, say for three days - tomorrow (Monday), Tuesday, and Wednesday? A week would be ideal, but I wonder how many of us heavy duty users can go that long on only 2 posts/day ;).

Oh, and ye of the onanistic persuasion, please do post your witty retorts; I (and other participants in this game) will be forced to respond to you with the silence that you so truly merit.

I make more than two posts a day just saying things like "moved", "edited", "please don't do this/that", "watch your language" etc etc

Would be impossible...that said, when I'm on holiday I don't post here so my expat.ru addiction is surmountable!!

Besides, the way the weather is at the moment, faced with the choice of posting on this site by way of entertainment or sitting in while looking at the rainy, grey sky outside wishing I could post, and there really is no contest!!

Oh yeah, and shouldn't it be motorfingers rather than motormouth?!

If you have no posts one day, does that mean you can have twice as many on another day? Does voting in polls count as a post? Does sending a flurry of private messages not count as posting?

How about :eh: :drink:  :wavey: !!!?$%#!!! smilies and punctuation? If there is no message but lot of garbled graphics and exclamation marks, does that count as a post?

Compared to some amongst that lot i consider myself to be a Nun who has taken a 'vow of silence' ;)

if i am so horribly annoying just tell me.
actually if you get me at the right time after i've had about five beers, just calling me condescending will send me into a wild crying jag, a three-hour bath and a vow to only read but never post.
and then i get over it.

Oh come on - what else am I going to do between porn sites during the weekend when the sun goes down at 3pm? It's not like I can wake my girlfriend up before four...

No - I am not accusing anyone of being annoying - after all I am joining in this as well - it would just be interesting to see what the site is like with the most vocal participants "sidelined" for a few days.

And of course moderator messages do not count :).

There goes post number 1 for 15.11 as it is after midnite.

Only 2 posts per day?

I don't think I could possibly do this...

How will I waste my time while I'm supposed to be working?

There - 3 already. I'm out...:p

I would say that editing your previous posts to add to the content is a breach of your self-imposed rules?

No can do :)

I agree with Polly. if I am annoying just let me know :)

But this mission is too hard for me...I am too sociable.

Since I really don't give a flying f*ck about anybody's opinion but my own, I have no interest in shutting up.

I don't get it. People post on here for many reasons. If I was a member of a club I wouldn't go out of my way to not go in there would I?

Although having said that I would be happy to see some people who post utter rubbish on here - like talking just for the sake of it, restrict themselves to useful, contributory or funny posts, in some cases that would leave about two posts a day. I think we all know who I am talking about.

I will post once so you don't kick me out (new site rules?), there I did it. Someone else can have my second post today, two tomorrow, two the day after... how often do I have to post to stay?

LOL - the experiment failed - no one wanted to play along and a few people thought it was insulting. No point doing this on my own, so the whole thing is dead. Would have been interesting, though.

Yeah, 50 guys ('n 5 gals) at work with nothing to do tempted to post on expat.ru yet unable to do so having used up their two posts. Would've been fun.
