Went to a contemporary art exhibit at the Garage Center for Contemp Culture yesterday and would like to recommend both it and the place. A very large space, renovated from an old bus garage designed by famous architect Melnikov in the 20's.

The current exhibit includes a number of very large pieces from a private collection. The reason to go is to see the installations, some of which are so big, they are rarely exhibited. Specifically, Dan Flavin's piece (untitled, neon lights). This show is similar to the type of contemporary art shown at the DIA Center in Beacon, NY. Also, the building itself is a wonder of industry matched with wonderful natural lighting.

I went to M. Mendeleevskaya and walked about 15min to Ulitsa Obraztsova, No. 19. (right out of metro, right on Ulitsa Palikha, walk alot, left onto Obratsova, walk up to 19, on left, set back from road). Happy travels!
