Can someone recommend a quick way to stop a very untimely nosebleed? Please. :)

There is no way other than pinching the bridge of the nose as hard as you can without hurting yourself, keeping your head level and also a cold wet cloth on the back of the neck seems to work well too...

If you are constantly prone to getting them, you can have a procedure where the bloodvessels to blame inside your nostils are cautarised (sp?) with a chemical a couple of times until they are sealed.

It doesn't hurt at all and really does work (I had it done about 4 years ago).

Don't know where you'd get it done here though or how much it would cost...

Thank you, D. The weird thing is that it's always the same one nostril. And today was just horrible. It just wouldn't stop, creating all kinds of inconviniences.

When I had the above procedure done, I chatted to the doctor about nosebleeds for a while and found out that with most people it usually happens from one nostril only (certainly did with me)!!

I used to have them a lot - if it was really hot, or if I was really stessed...decided to put a stop to it once and for all.

Have only had about three since, but they were so minor they literally stopped within 10 seconds...

press your nose (side thats bleeding) sip cold (ie with ice) drink. Don't blow your nose hard, or wash face in hot water first thing in the morning.
cold cloth on bridge of nose/forehead also good.

and yeah, smaller lines.
