Economists say that the free market will arrive at the best price for something given good information. So lets ty this experiment. How much are you (or your friends) paying per month for a 2 room apartment in Moscow?

Obviously not all options are listed and there is great variability in the market, but lets just see...

Actually paying less than $500 for an inside ring, unremonted two-room place.

whilst we've been renting our flat for over 2 years thus far, we pay US$1 000 per month for a fairly good Russian remont in the visotskii at Krasnye Vorota...It's huge, and in a great location...:-)

Beige cage inside the Ring. Free. Patio with actual grass!

Living in an apartment sucks. I miss the farm I sold....

Market dynamics as we know them do not apply to the real estate market here ... agencies are in cohorts with each other, have brainwashed landlords, formed consortiums ... it's all one large conspiracy ...

I was also as cynical as you were until I found my current place...
3 rooms, evro(ish, got a shit*ty carpet!) remont, and right opposite the Misnk Hotel (Tverskaya). And it's $1,200

If you have the time and the energy, you can still find a gem out there........keep the faith!
