Dear brothers and sisters, is there someone who could donate a couple of hours for proofreading of simple texts translated in English for a christian charity organization located in Moscow? They provide help for orphanages, poor families, differentially abled persons and destroyed churches and now want to have their website translated in English. Your contribution is highly appreciated.
If you are interested please e-mail me: olemovch@gmail.com

Many thanks in advance,
Alexandra

Who we are
Board of Trustees in the Name of St. Alexius of Moscow
The Board of Trustees in the Name of St. Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow, is a voluntary charity organisation. Its commitment is to help churches and orphanages. Of course, these churches and orphanages are located not in Moscow, but out in the sticks where no charity aid of other sources arrives. The Board of Trustees was founded by a group of volunteers who were just friends.
The targets of our help are provincial orphanages and churches. The orphanages we visit lie far from the beaten tracks and have never seen any benefactors. The children go about in rags and have seen neither toys nor books for many years, to say nothing about a PC. We help the orphanages practically with everything they ask for: with clothes, medicine, household appliances, office supplies, hygienic items, sports equipment, etc. In doing so, we do out best to give aid regularly, though one-time donations are also not a rare case.

The churches we help to are often so poor that they lack on liturgical items. In winter, it is so cold therein that the after-communion zeon freezes. As a rule, we help churches by acquisition of liturgical items, books, etc., as well as heaters and some other stuff.

Moreover, we consider it important to help foster parents, i.e., people who give orphans a real home, love, nurture, education, - all that no orphanage, not even the best one could provide. There are a lot of families who would like to adopt one, two or even five children, but they often need some initial aid, - for example, for getting more living space. We do our best to find people willing to help such families, for it grants children parents, home, brothers and sisters.

No one man can bring real help to an orphanage or a church. However, after we have united, we give systematic aid to several targets at once. We do our best to monitor if everything purchased for the orphanages has been received by the children it is meant for. Therefore, in most cases we donate no money, but the items directly needed. We also ask the orphanage directors to provide documents confirming that our donations have been received. If it is possible, we try to give all donations to the children directly and individually.

In addition, the Board of Trustees arranges working visits to some churches located in the Moscow region for performing works which do not require any special skills. Join us! You are always welcome!
