I will be moving to belgorod in russia next year to live with my wife to be., I will drive there from England, Does any one know the best route to go ?. And how do i import my car ?, what charges is there, do i need to do any thing before i leave England ?. The car a is a mazda 2litre and more then 4 years old.

easiest and safest way with least driving

drive to Harwich--- ferry to esberg ( Denmark ) then drive to Lubeck in Germany--- then 3 day ferry ride to St Pete

get of ferry in St pete--- get a temp 2 month cert for your car--- drive to where ever

after 2 months you can extend the certificate for a further two months where ever you have registration --- after this--- car must either leave Russia or pay the import tax and get Russian numbers---- the import tax will be crazy probably more than your car is worth ( uk prices that is)

Pity it is not a newer or bigger car, I have a 2yr jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7lts in Moscow, and have been relocated to the UK. We could have simply done a swap deal.....
