Is it difficult for Russian tourists to travel to the Carribean Islands. I would like to take my friend to the Carribean. I was more interested in Jamaica, Bahamas, or Grand Caymans. Does anyone know if it is possible and if it is how difficult is it.

It is possible. The flights aren't direct, of course. In terms of visas, you need to contact the relevant Embassy in Europe (some of the closest ones are in London), and arrange to apply for the visa through another Embassy here in Moscow. For example, applications at the Trinidad & Tobago Embassy directly in London take about a week, but from here (through the British Embassy), take about a month - both cost the same, and it's quite straightforward - their visas are valid for three months from the date of stamping. You just need to check out their website and call them for details - the regulations are all slightly different. Hope your tourists have a great holiday! :)

Russians pay around $30 for a Jamaican Visa, they are escorted to a small room just beyond passport control at the airport in Montego Bay where they are given the Visa.

This was a year ago.

Visas for Bahamas and Caymans your friend can get in UK embassy. It takes about 30 days. As for me I was so afraid of going to UK embassy :yikes:, that I decided to spend my holiday at Netherlandsís Antilles . Itís also in Carribean sea

I spent 6 months in Jamaica last year (in Kingston). Get a visa in the airport- easy. Dont go to Montego Bay. Ocho Rios is the place!!! U can rent really good place for 100$ a night. Have fun!!!

Goose: Most of those islands have been devastated by the recent hurricanes. Before you go, make sure you check out the state fo the resort/hotel at which you are planning to stay...make sure it's in OK shape.
