Scarey isn't it? What he says does make sense and there is a chance of it happening but I think that we will avoid it. Hopefully.

Fraudulent “Credit Crisis” Paves Way for Economic Disaster (http://www.aim.org/aim-column/fraudulent-credit-crisis-paves-way-for-economic-disaster/)

But none of this was true. “The freezing of the credit markets that Secretary Paulson cites is not visible” in the data, the Celent report shows.

Paulson also made the claim that blue chip industrial companies could not issue longer-term commercial paper. But this claim “finds no support” in the data, the report says.

Bernanke had claimed that businesses were “confronting diminished access to credit” when in fact “the opposite” was true, the study demonstrates.

Here's a passage from that Liberal pinko-website about the Accuracy In Media clowns whose article you linked to -

Critics say AIM's attacks on the media seem to have little to do with actual misrepresentation or inaccuracies in media accounts. They assert that Irvine and AIM is quick to attack groups that do not fit in the group's ideological niche. Donald Graham, the publisher of The Washington Post, alleges that Irvine tends to "throw around accusations about people being communists."[citation needed]

AIM has also been vigorously defensive of former Senator Joseph McCarthy, referring to his critics as "liars" and "communists," and defending his legacy, claiming that he never once fingered an innocent person in his accusations during the red scare he helped to fan. [5]

The New York Times characterizes AIM as an often effective right-wing advocacy organization, "their criticism of television and the press is often provocative. But it is always tendentious. Accuracy in Media, to judge by its newsletters, finds television to be a hotbed of leftist propaganda.[11]

Some say that Accuracy in Media distorts stories, and misrepresents its own information meanwhile criticising other news organizations or politicians of manipulating their own stories. For example in "Was a Communist Obama’s Sex Teacher?" the author uses the following words all in one article to describe obama or his "associates": "Communist, terrorist, racist, radical, communist terrorist, sex pervert, scandal, pedophile, pornographer, involved in sex scandals

Gotta say, the break up of the united states would be a good thing for the world. It would force them to deal with their own mess for a while and leave the world alone.

Here's hoping!

Couldn't disagree more.

If you look at its constitution it is to me a model of how things ought to be done.

It is far from perfect and has fallen prey to special interests -tobacco, health insurance and oil companies, which some moderate changes in election law would solve.

LGS - good post, thank you. DDT is fond of posting these supposedly independent reports which in fact come from staunch republican outlets. I must admit I'd given up trying to establish their authenticity so thank you.

One thing that is unexplained is why it would be so terrible if the various people were communists. And the statement that McCarthy only ever accused communists is so palpably untrue as to be laughable. Along with the Iraq War the McCarthy era is the biggest stain on the US reputation.

Personally, I think the million they killed in Vietnam is at least as big a stain on their reputation as Afghanistan or Iraq.

Totally agree with you about the constitution. Shame ''its just a piece of paper'' in the eyes of former presidents. I think its the best political document ever written.

Now that is a PRO-CONSTITUTION stance. Its not anti American to love the constitution

Another lead-in conspiracy theory on the make. LOL I'm not from the US nor England but I do know these people are together in how they stand. Tell me please, was it not but only a decade or two back the Irish were not pleased with the English? How many concessions were initiated by the English government to provide for peace and well being amongst the English? I have yet to see a similar problem in the US of "A"

Funny! I've already read all of those articles in AIM.

I don't bother with the Washington ****, preferring the Washington Times instead.

And I am on the subscription list to the Boycott The New York Times site. (Because NYT are dirty rotten liars) I suggest everyone join. Here:

You do realise that article contains hilariously incorrect analysis, hokey theory, idiotic reasoning and a series of outright lies?
